The Gauntlet arena final

The A.P.E.X. Gauntlet Final is a continuous 50–65 minute arena race built for elite hybrid athletes. Combining 3,200m of running, 8,000m of Concept2 ergometer work, and 7 two-minute high-output power stations, it tests raw capacity and strategic execution under extreme fatigue. With dynamic 10m and 25m credit deductions under a strict 50% floor cap rule, every rep counts towards cutting your final time on the leaderboard.

The continuous gauntlet flow

The race clock runs continuously from start to finish with strict one-minute transition windows between stages. The event opens with a 1,600m arena run before launching straight into the gauntlet circuit: Station 1 thrusters (25m/rep credit) into a 2,000m SkiErg (50% floor cap at 1,000m min), Station 2 kettlebell swings (10m/rep) into a 2,000m RowErg (1,000m min), Station 3 devil presses (25m/rep) into a 4,000m BikeErg (2,000m min), Station 4 wall balls (10m/rep) into a second 2,000m SkiErg (1,000m min), Station 5 dumbbell snatch or clean & press (10m/rep) into a 4,000m BikeErg (2,000m min), Station 6 sandbag cleans (10m/rep), Station 7 box step-ups or burpees (10m/rep), followed by a 2,000m RowErg (1,000m min), and finishing with a 1,600m final sprint run.

Power stations, ergs, and credit deductions

Athletes face seven dedicated two-minute power stations targeting full-body functional durability: barbell or dumbbell thrusters, kettlebell swings, devil presses, wall balls, dumbbell snatches or clean & presses, heavy sandbag cleans, and box step-ups or burpees. Between stations, racers conquer 8,000m of total ergometer distance split across two 2,000m SkiErgs, two 2,000m RowErgs, and two 4,000m BikeErgs. High work capacity is directly rewarded: every valid repetition deducts either 10 metres or 25 metres from your upcoming erg target, down to a protected 50% minimum distance floor.

Master the standards and rulebook

Built strictly for Rx and elite hybrid racers, mastering The Gauntlet demands deep aerobic stamina, heavy muscular endurance under compound fatigue, and flawless movement efficiency. Because time bonuses depend entirely on valid repetitions, 10m/25m credit conversions, and transition pacing, your most vital first step is to thoroughly review the official rulebook and movement standards before stepping onto the arena floor.
